The beginnings date back to the family business in 1940, which was called "Granja Pla," and was the offshoot of Grandfather Manuel Pla's business. The grandfather divided the business between his two sons: the younger, Herminio, received the bakery, while the elder, Josep Maria, took over the restaurant. This restaurant evolved until, in 1981, the "El Jardí de Granja Pla" restaurant was born. Continuing the family legacy, Sesoliveres was founded in 1996 and has been modified over the years with expanded gardens, kitchens, and culminating in the new project El Kubb de Sesoliveres, a restaurant that has once again become a gastronomic landmark in the city of Igualada.
